The Visudda or Throat Chakra is located in the throat. Its name means purification. The Sanskrit Mantra letter in the centre of the Chakra is "Hum". To it belong the element ether, and it's colour is royal blue. The Throat Chakra is the centre of expression, the place where our good feelings come from when we sense that we are being heard. The Throat Chakra opens to both song and words. When it is completely open, we express our truth so fully that we can speak only our own minds. Allowing the Throat Chakra to be open means letting go of all ideas that are not born of our own experience. A closed Throat Chakra can leave a person saying only what they think others want to hear. The message of the Throat Chakra is: "to thine own self be true". And to treat your words like gold; to use them wisely.
