This workshop is designed to release the tension and stress built up from winter and from after the Holidays. In this workshop we will practice Seated and Walking Meditation, Sound Yoga (Mantra), Gentle Yoga including Restorative Yoga poses, Yoga Nidra then finish with tea and treats for a Mindful Eating Practice and discussion. In the spirit of Imbolc our Candle Lit Yoga and Meditation practice is a celebration and a welcoming in of the New Year as well as the solar energies which are becoming more dominant.
Please bring a mug (for your tea), a yoga mat, water and any yoga props you wish such as meditation cushions, blankets, yoga belts, blocks, foams, eye pillows or bolsters. Please dress in appropriate yoga attire. Please be advised that the space will have incense burning and that there will be a complete list of ingredients of the provided treat.
Siobhan.Phoenix has practiced various forms of Yoga since 1983 and completed her 200 hr Hatha Vinyasa Teacher Training with Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio of Halifax, NS in 2009. Her focus is to create a space where people feel safe and creatively able to explore their spirituality in movement. Having an interest in Yoga for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health she also infuses her teaching with a sense of humor. She also has been practicing various forms of Belly Dance since 2002 and began teaching in 2003. Since being a teen-ager, she has had a love for diverse forms of spirituality and welcomes all walks of life, races, genders, religions, ages, and sexual orientations into her space. Some of her future goals are to continue studying yoga, and to achieve Reiki Level 2.
